United Nations Day & Book Fair

On October 24, Centro Educativo Naciones Unidas (CENU) experienced a day filled with exciting literary activities and moments of unity. This event, coinciding with United Nations Day, brought together students, teachers, and families to celebrate cultural diversity and foster a passion for reading.

The day began with a special civic ceremony, led by the second-grade high school students and enriched by the participation of first-grade elementary students. In this welcome, the importance of diversity was emphasized, and the spirit of the United Nations at CENU was embraced.

One of the most notable moments of the civic ceremony was the raising of flags from different nations represented in the school, accompanied by the singing of national anthems. Each flag was hoisted by a student representative of that nation, thus highlighting the diversity present in the school community.

The Book Fair, which ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offered a wide selection of books for students to explore and acquire. Reading-related activities were also held, providing students

with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of literature.

Cultural activities at the event included readings and creative workshops. Author A.K.P.C Ordóñez shared her stories with elementary and high school students. Author and community member Jesús Ibarra spoke about his own book and took part in activities in the library. Carmen Rioja, an author and restorer, conducted creative workshops with students.

The event was characterized by its spirit of solidarity and a love for reading. Additionally, a special call was made to the community for the donation of new or gently used books, resulting in a generous contribution to the school library.

CENU's Book Fair on October 24 was a day filled with cultural and literary enrichment. The school community came together to celebrate diversity and promote reading. The contributions of local authors and bookstores further enriched the experience.

We extend our gratitude to all participants and look forward to future events that will continue to nurture our passion for books and solidarity at CENU. Until the next event!
